RESPONDING TO ENFORCEMENT ACTION

In certain circumstances, local planning authorities notify clients of impending Enforcement action to secure a cessation or removal of unauthorised building works or uses. We will work towards negotiating a satisfactory resolution with a view to avoiding the service of an Enforcement Notice. This may involve the submission of a planning application with a view to regularising the unauthorised development.

In the event an Enforcement Notice is served, there is a window of opportunity when we can submit an Appeal on various grounds - including the grounds that retrospective planning permission ought to be granted or that the development is not unauthorised.
